Hi, I'm Allison Donohue, and I'm a writer, artist and teacher working out of my studio in Southern Maine. I spend a lot of time wandering through fields, woods, streams and shorelines observing plants and animals. I have a particular obsession with the ocean and the many islands that dot the Maine coastline. Over the years, the shapes, colors, and images that I’ve seen have lingered with me, and I’ve found myself compelled to create stories that draw on my experiences in the wild. As someone who has bounced back and forth between science and the arts all my life, I'm particularly interested in creating stories and images that create a bridge between the two. |
